Ray of light/the silver lining

Rainy days are fun.

Rainy day, drops falling on a tree.

So, I had another blog post lined up for today, but then with the beautiful rain and weather, I decided to change the schedule.

Yesterday, I was going through some of my old writings of around 3 years back. I was surprised to find them in my diary- it was a good trip down memory lane. Today I am sharing one of those with you because it’s still one of my favorite pieces. Hope you like it:)

And if you have any such short pieces to share, do send them across- I might do a collective blog post of all!

Here you go-

“There’ll be times in life when you’ll feel like drowning in the world, like drowning in the ocean of helplessness. You’ll feel like you’re not capable of surviving anymore, like the least talented, least beautiful, or the least valued person on earth. You’ll want to get out of it but your helplessness will take over. Then you’ll expect, you’ll expect someone to save you from drowning, to grab your hand and take you through the ocean you created for yourself. But your expectations will only take you deeper into the ocean, into despair, into loneliness. You’ll need to find the ray of light all by yourself, and follow it back to the surface of the ocean.

In these times you’ll need to know that it’s okay to be wrong, it’s okay to be crazy, it’s okay to be late every once in a while, it’s not the end of the world.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. You cannot be perfect at everything you do, someone will always be better than you at it. But you can always be perfect at loving yourself, and once you learn to do that, life will be just a play. You should know that there never has been a person like you before and there never will be again. And then your ocean of helplessness will turn into a meadow of love, with flowers of happiness and birds soaring high with the utmost freedom, and then you in the middle of this ecstasy, dancing and singing in the celebration of life.”

The ocean and a pink sunset.

Stay ecstatic and keep the loving vibes flowing,

Pranjali
