This is something I learned recently.

Today’s post is a short realization I had this week, and I would love to know your take on it.
Last week I did a 48-hour complete digital detox wherein I shut all my socials and practically switched off my phone. The only time I logged in was to attend some important online classes. I spent my time reading, dancing, writing, and bonding.
Now, I am not going to say that it was amazing or easy and that I had the time of my life; because it wasn’t. With every single thing turned digital, it’s pretty hard to survive without it. Boredom is the biggest hit.
That being said, I did have a decent time off the screens- as if a burden had been lifted off me and I didn’t need to respond to anything. I felt mentally refreshed. And yes, I would do it again, but in different circumstances.
As I logged back on, it took less than ten minutes for my mood to shift from happy to exhausted.
I thought I would limit my content consumption, but when everything is right in front of you, it’s a big challenge. But ultimately, the key is to find the balance– between online and offline, between our actual lives and digital lives- between everything.
Case in point, spending the entire day on electronics isn’t good but spending the workdays without them isn’t advisable either since the world we live in operates on the digital front.
So here’s what I am gonna do- one hour in a day I am going to shut off everything- preferably the one hour before sleeping. And staying away from the screen in the morning, till breakfast, works well for me. And for one day in a week, most likely Sunday, I am going to try and limit my digital footprints altogether. Give time to hobbies or family- whatever may come.

This is my way of finding balance. This is me asking you to do the same. Don’t spend your entire life digitally- it’s not worth it. So, I would like to encourage you to find the balance in your special way and give yourself a break. Let me know your ideas in the comments below!
Thank you for reading!
Keep the genuine vibes flowing,
Pranjali❤
